Help / Ads / Studio

Studio

Studio writes your ads with you: you say what you advertise, it plans the angles and writes every hook, script and ad text. Nothing is used until you approve it.

Making ads, start to finish

"+ New batch" starts a batch: everything one plan makes. A batch has four steps, in order: Brief, Plan, Words and Ads. Opening a batch takes you to the step it is at. Click the name at the top to rename it.

  1. Brief: what you advertise, where the ads run, who they speak to. "Make the batch" saves it.
  2. Plan: the angles, their styles and how many of each. "Write the words" starts writing.
  3. Words: read every line, then approve, reject or write it again.
  4. Ads: every ad the plan makes, with its checks on each platform, and the preview videos.

On Batches, each batch is Draft (no words yet), Words to approve or Words approved.

The brief

Start from one of four:

  • Your own words: describe what you advertise, then "Read my words". No page needed, which suits lead generation (say, a free roof inspection).
  • A page link: paste the page and "Read the page".
  • A saved product: one from Products, with its facts, offer and photos.
  • The page's text: paste it and "Read the text", for a page that cannot be read.

Converts on: "A landing page" or "An instant form" (a form inside the ad platform). The words never send people to a page there is not.

  • Facts: only facts found word for word on the page or in your words are kept, with From saying "The page" or "You". Change any value, remove one, or "+ Add a fact".
  • Reading again never overwrites your facts. It shows "Changes from the page" (or "from your words"): Accept or Ignore.
  • Photos: "Add photos to the product" (or "to a new product") adds your own. Pictures found on the page can be taken with "Take the photo". If the page is not on one of your own confirmed domains, you are asked to confirm first: "I own them or am licensed".
  • Where the ads run: Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, one or more. Pick the Special ad category if it applies: Financial products, Insurance, Credit, Employment or Housing.
  • Audience and languages: Niche, Audience, Languages, a Brand kit and your Cast.
  • What is missing shows at the top: no language yet, or a style that shows the product with no usable product photo.

The plan

"Propose a plan" suggests angles that fit your product and niche, in order, each with Why it fits. Suggestions never claim an angle wins; which angles work comes only from your own results.

  • Change it freely: "+ Add an angle", move angles up or down, remove them, and add or remove styles with "+ Style".
  • Bodies are the scripts for an angle. Hooks per body are the openings written for each script. Each hook on a script, in each style, is one ad.
  • Audience versions say who appears in the ad, such as a homeowner in a named city. In a special ad category, versions by age or gender are not allowed, and no version may speak to the viewer as "you".
  • Each ad: the Length (15 to 60 seconds) and how many Primary texts, Headlines and Descriptions each ad gets. Nothing is set for you; choose every number.
  • The numbers at the top count the angles, hooks and ads the plan makes.
  • Credits shows what the previews of this plan set aside, by angle. Nothing is taken then: credits are set aside only when you make the previews.

The words

"Write the words" writes every empty place in the plan: scripts first, then each script's hooks, then each ad's texts. The bar shows "Writing, 3 of 8 done" until it finishes. Writing again only fills what is still empty.

  • Pick lines to Approve, Reject or Write again. Writing a line again, or changing it, makes it unapproved.
  • Import your lines: a CSV or sheet export with columns such as angle, audience, language, hook, script, primary text, headline and description. Each row is one ad. Nothing is imported if a row does not fit.
  • Other languages are written natively, not word for word, with the English meaning shown under each line. A line that says something its source does not (a new claim, number or promise) is marked.
  • Only the person who made the batch approves its words. Nothing is ever approved for you.

The checks on every line

Every line goes through three checks.

Rules ("Passed", "Held" or "Checking"). ScalingDeck never writes:

  • an AI person posing as a customer, the founder or any real person, or saying they bought, used or tried the product, or reporting a result;
  • fake government programs, grants or rebates, or products the platforms ban, such as prescription drugs;
  • cures, timelines, telling the viewer something personal about them, or anything an angle or style says never to do.

A line the AI writes that breaks a rule is not kept; its place shows "Held" with the reason, and can be written again. A line you wrote is kept exactly as you wrote it, but held, with a Safer rewrite you can take with "Use it". A held line cannot be approved until it is changed.

Before writing, any fact that would break these rules is left out of the words. The Ads step lists them under "Facts kept out of the words".

Length. Ad texts are measured against the limits of your batch's platforms only. A line over a limit shows "Too long" with the platform and the limit. It can still be approved. A spoken hook over 9 words is noted too, as it will not fit in 3 seconds.

Content Guard checks every ad's words against each platform's ad rules, once per platform: "Not reviewed", "Checking", "Allowed", "Not allowed" (with the rule) or "Could not check" (with why). A line Content Guard did not allow on any of your platforms cannot be approved: change it or write it again. Content Guard needs the landing page's address, so a batch without one shows "Could not check".

The ads

Ads shows every ad with its hook, style, audience version, language, Content Guard's answer on each platform and how many of its lines are approved. Group them by angle, style, language or audience version.

Credits

Making videos uses credits. Credits left, at the top of Studio, is what your organization has.

  • Where credits come from: for now, the ScalingDeck team gives them. If you run low, email support@scalingdeck.com.
  • Set aside, then used: "Make the previews" sets aside what they would cost. When they are done, only the previews that were made are charged; the rest goes back.
  • Not charged: a preview that could not be made, or whose product still looked wrong after it was made again.

Previews

A preview is a short video of one ad: its shots, the spoken hook and script, the hook's words on screen, captions, and the first headline at the end. Videos are vertical (9:16).

  1. Approve every line of an ad in Words. Only fully approved ads get a preview, in any video style except Text slideshow. Picture ads and slideshows come later.
  2. On the Ads step, the Previews card says how many previews there are, what they cost and how many credits you have left, then "Make the previews". Only the person who made the batch, or an owner or admin of the organization, can make them.
  3. While they are made, the card shows "Making 12 previews: 30 of 48 parts done". You can leave the page; they carry on.
  4. When they are done, each preview shows Ready (watch it, or Download) or Not made with why. The card says how many credits were used and that the rest went back.

How they are made:

  • Your real product: a shot that shows the product starts from your own product photo. Each preview that shows the product is checked against that photo. If it looks wrong it is made again once, for free; if it is still wrong, the preview is not made and not charged.
  • AI creator styles: the creator speaks from their still, with the same face and voice in every shot. These styles need an AI creator in the brief; without one the card says "Choose an AI creator in the brief".
  • Paused: the card shows why, such as ScalingDeck's daily limit on making videos. It carries on by itself when it can.
  • Content Guard: an ad it did not allow gets no preview, and a video already made is not offered in Compose while its words stand refused.
  • A busy video service: a piece waits its turn, for up to 24 hours. After that the preview shows as Not made, and it is not charged.
  • Long text on screen gets smaller so that every word shows.
  • Making them again: "Make the previews again" makes a new set from the current plan and its approved ads, with new credits. One set is made at a time per batch. The videos already made stay on the card.

Launching them: ready previews are offered in Compose, on its Ads step, as videos you made in Studio. A preview whose product check could not run is not offered. See Compose.

Products

Your saved products, shared within the workspace. "+ New product" takes a name and a page address.

  • Facts, Offer and price and Approved claims are what the words may say about the product.
  • Photos: add your own, or take them from a batch's page. Only photos marked Usable go into ads. Mark each one yourself, or ask "Check with AI": it looks for a sharp, large photo with the product clear and no other brand's logo in front. You can always overrule it.
  • The AI never draws or invents your product. Ads only use your real photos.
  • A batch keeps the product as it was when the batch picked it. Later changes to the product never rewrite an old batch.

Angles and styles

An angle is what an ad argues. A style is how it looks and is made, such as AI creator talking, Selfie review (UGC), Product and hands demo, Podcast clip or Picture ads. Any angle can be made in any style that fits.

  • ScalingDeck's own are there for every workspace.
  • Your own: "+ New angle" and "+ New style". "Start from" copies one to begin with. "Save and check" checks it against the same rules as the words before it is saved: Allowed, or Refused with Why refused. A refused one is never offered in plans; change it and save again.
  • Retire hides one of your own from new plans. Nothing is deleted; Restore brings it back.

Brand kits

"+ New brand kit": Colors (each with its role), Fonts (Heading and Body), Logo, Tone, Must say and Must never say. Click a kit to change it. Pick one in a batch's brief.

Cast

Cast are AI creators who present your ads. "+ New AI creator":

  • Look: describe them, then "Make stills from the look". Each still is an invented adult, never a real person. "More like this one" makes more of the same person. "Add stills" adds your own.
  • An AI creator always presents. They never pose as a customer or speak as if they used the product.

Each library tab shows how many batches use each piece.
